There are no cookies
Layz does not set a single cookie. There is no advertising, no analytics, no tracking pixel, no session cookie and no third-party script that could set one. If your browser reports a cookie on this domain, it did not come from us.
What it does use instead
The site keeps a few preferences in localStorage and one flag in sessionStorage. Both are browser features that store data on your own device. Unlike cookies they are never attached to network requests, so they are not transmitted anywhere.

Why there is no consent banner for these
Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive covers any storage on your device, not just cookies — but it exempts storage that is strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for. Saving a font you pressed Save on, or remembering that you switched to dark mode, is exactly that. None of it identifies you or follows you anywhere.
What we do ask about
The one thing that genuinely involves a third party is Google Fonts. Loading a typeface means your browser contacts Google and discloses your IP address. That is not strictly necessary in the legal sense, so it is your choice.
Allow Google Fonts loads the specimens normally. Essential only blocks every request to Google and renders the site with fonts already on your device — the pages still work, but the specimens will not show their real typefaces.

Clearing what is stored
Everything above can be removed by clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings, or by using your browser's private mode, where nothing persists after the window closes. Removing the data resets your preferences and empties your shortlist.
Note for the site owner: this page matches what the code actually does today. If you ever add analytics, embeds, maps, video or any hosted script, this document and the consent flow must be revisited — most of those do set cookies.
