What Layz is
Layz is a free reference tool for browsing typefaces from the Google Fonts library and for generating title/body pairings. It is provided by Hussy Levente Hunor as described in the Legal Notice. Using the site means accepting these terms.
Font licensing — read this one
Layz does not license fonts to you and does not host any font files. Typefaces are fetched directly from Google Fonts and remain the property of their respective designers and foundries. Almost all are published under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, with some under the Apache License 2.0.
Before using a typeface in your own work you are responsible for checking its licence on its Google Fonts page. The embed snippets and CSS this site generates are a convenience, not a grant of rights.
Using the site
You may use Layz freely for personal and commercial design work: browsing, previewing your own text, generating pairings and copying the CSS it produces. You may not attempt to disrupt the service, scrape it at a volume that degrades it for others, or present it as your own product.
The pairing suggestions, categories and sub-genre labels are editorial opinion. Treat them as a starting point, not a rule.
Your saved items
Your shortlist lives in your browser, not on a server. We cannot recover it. Clearing your browser data, switching device or using private mode will lose it, and that is not something we can undo.
Availability and warranty
The site is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. There is no guarantee of uptime, of the accuracy of any classification or description, or that the Google Fonts service it depends on will remain available or unchanged.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site, including any consequences of a licensing decision you make on the basis of information shown here. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury, or anything else that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Donations
Support given through Ko-fi is a voluntary gift. It buys no product, no service level and no entitlement, and it is not refundable through this site. Ko-fi's own terms govern the payment itself.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Hungary, with the courts of Hungary having jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country of residence.
Note for the site owner: a free informational site is not legally obliged to publish terms, but they are worth having — section 02 in particular keeps font licensing where it belongs. This is a template, not legal advice.
